A breath of fresh air. As a team, we are the driving force behind our community, combining expertise and experience in the fields of impact, entrepreneurship, and social and environmental innovation. We see ourselves as process facilitators, hosts, and stewards of the future.

Alex is one of the co-founders of Impact Hub Tirol and is responsible for several key programs, including pioneer:impact, the Impact Investing Academy, and Circo. As a venture builder, he is also a driving force in the development and support of innovative startup projects. In addition, as managing director of our subsidiary, he is responsible for managing our investments.

Raised in idyllic Abtenau in the Salzburg region and after completing his mechanical engineering training at HTL Salzburg, his path led him to Innsbruck in 2014. Here, he was able to acquire a solid foundation of knowledge about a wide variety of technical solutions to climate change while studying environmental, process, and energy engineering. At the same time, he immersed himself in business ethics while studying business administration, which ultimately led him to impact entrepreneurship. This focus also led him to Jana and SETup. At the end of his mandatory internship as part of his studies, he and Jana founded the limited liability company that now functions as an impact hub. During the pandemic, Alex expanded his academic qualifications with a master’s degree in European energy economics.

Alex is enthusiastic about innovations that drive social progress—whether through innovative business models or groundbreaking technologies. “The main thing is that something happens” is his motto. In addition to his role at Impact Hub, he is a guest lecturer at MCI, a speaker at various universities, and politically active on the Innsbruck City Council.

Lena has long been involved in various areas and roles promoting greater equality, justice, and sustainability. Her conviction that a just society and a good life for all are inextricably linked to a regenerative economy brought her to Impact Hub.

During her studies in management, tourism, and marketing, she specialized in queer-feminist economic theory and intersectional power analysis. She believes that critically reflecting on privilege and one’s own thoughts and actions is essential on the path to an impact-oriented economy. Whether it’s community strategy, business models, or organizational culture, “to build a new system, we have to unlearn many things that we take for granted and, on the other hand, cultivate an open mind for new and previously unthinkable ideas.”

At Impact Hub Tirol, Lena is responsible for community management, marketing & communication, and diversity, equity & inclusion.

Maileen is originally from Germany and already feels at home in Innsbruck with its mountains and lively community. Even as an undergraduate, she was working on projects with added value, such as an AR app for waste separation. Inspired by her enthusiasm for working with forward-looking ideas, Maileen decided to pursue a master’s degree in innovation management. She was particularly fascinated by value-based management—for her, a strong vision with real impact is a must for every company.

During her studies, she pursued a startup idea to combat period poverty and immersed herself in the startup scene. Her enthusiasm for social innovation continued to grow when she accompanied a project that transformed vacant space into a consumption-free meeting place. She believes that real change happens where courage meets new perspectives.

Maileen now brings her passion for meaningful projects to Impact Hub Tirol, where she energetically manages content and space.

I am Marion, mother of an adult daughter, and originally from Germany. At the end of November 2017, I moved to beautiful Tyrol. I love the mountains and the people, which is why Tyrol is my second home.

Professionally, I come from a sales background and put my heart and soul into my work. Now I have decided to start a new career and am training to become an office administrator. While looking for an internship, I came across Impact Hub Tirol and feel very much at home here.

I am a very creative person who hates nothing more than stagnation and intolerance. I want to develop myself further and always learn new things.
